Notes: Ch 3 counts as dc at beg of row. - To join new color, work to last 2 loops on hook. Draw new color through last 2 loops then proceed in new color.

BACK
**With A, ch 59 (65-71-77-93-103).
1st row: (RS). 1 dc in 4th ch from hook. 1 dc in each ch to end of ch. Turn. 57 (63-69-75-91-101) dc.
2nd row: Ch 1. Working through front loops only, 1 sc in each dc to end of row. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 3. Working through back loops only, 1 dc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
Rep last 2 rows of pat twice more. Join MC. Break A.

Proceed as follows:
1st row: (WS). With MC, ch 1. Working through front loops only, 1 sc in each dc to end of row. Turn.
2nd row: Ch 3. Working through back loops only, 1 dc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 1. Working through front loops only, 1 sc in each dc to end of row. Turn.
4th row: As 2nd row. Join A. Break MC.
5th row: With A, as 1st row. Join MC. Break A.

Fasten off.

FRONT
Work from ** to ** as given for Back.
Keeping cont of Stripe Pat, cont in pat until armholes measure 2 (2½-3-3½-4-5)" [5 (6-7.5-9-10-12.5) cm], ending on a WS row.

Divide for front opening: Next row: Ch 3. 1 dc in each of first 19 (22-23-26-32-37) sc. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
Next row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each dc to end of row. Turn. Keeping cont of Stripe Pat, cont in pat until armhole measures 8 rows less than Back to shoulder, ending on a WS row.

Cont in pat as follows:
Shape neck: 1st row: Ch 3. 1 dc in each of next 11 (13-13-16-21-25) sc. Dc2tog. Turn. 13 (15-15-18-23-27) sts rem. Leave rem sts unworked.
2nd row: Ch 1. Sc2tog. 1 sc in each dc to end of row. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 3. 1 dc in each sc to last 2 sts. Dc2tog. Turn.
4th row: As 2nd row. 10 (13-13-13-13-13) sts rem.

Cont even in pat until armhole measures same length as Back, ending on a WS row.

HOOD
Note: Hood is worked with MC only.
With MC, ch 85.

2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each dc to end of row. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 3. 1 dc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
Rep last 2 rows 0 (0-0-1-1-2) time(s) more, then 2nd row once.

Next row: Ch 3. Dc2tog. 1 dc in each sc to last 2 sc. Dc2tog. Turn.
Rep last 2 rows 5 times more. 71 sts.
Work a further 8 (8-8-10-10-12) rows even. Place markers at each end of last row.

Shape back: 1st row: (WS). Sl st in each of first 4 sts. Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as last sl st. 1 sc in each dc to last 3 dc. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
2nd row: Sl st in each of first 4 sc. Ch 3 (counts as dc). 1 dc in each dc to last 3 sc. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
Rep last 2 rows twice more. Fasten off.
Fold Hood in half, matching markers. Sew back seam from fold to markers.

FINISHING
Sew shoulder seams. Sew in Sleeves, placing rows above markers along skipped sts of Front and Back to form square armholes. Sew side and sleeve seams. Pin Hood to neck edge, aligning back seam with center back neck and foundation ch with edges of front opening. Using a flat seam, sew Hood in position.

Front and Hood edging: 1st rnd: With RS facing, join A with sl st to bottom of front opening. Ch 1. Work even in sc around front opening and hood edge. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
