The Virtue of Patience

Yes, patience and how about perseverance too?  Despite my laments over finishing, I persevered and my patience was rewarded:  ALL the granny squares are finally joined.  And I wasn't joking about all those ends.  Here's the proof.

All the work was well worth the effort!  And I just loved using the slip stitch join (so easy and it looks great too--almost invisible).   And the edgings round the hem and neckline finish off the piece.  The only modification I made was to add an extra round to the hem.

And of course the dark pink fringe was the final pièce de résistance.

The pink fringe just "pops".  I must say I am so pleased with the colour combo: soft pinks and fresh green reminiscent of spring flowers and new grass.  Perfect for the arrival of warmer spring weather.  Easy to wear over a dress or blue jeans.  What a versatile piece!

And just for fun, I whipped up the hat too.

It looks more like a bucket hat than a cap (I think I picked up one too many stitches along the bottom edge).  Don't you think it completes the ensemble?  And finished just in time for my niece's birthday.  Hope she likes it.

NICE! Hey, if your niece doesn't like it, send it my way! I'd save it for my granddaughter to wear when she's a little older. :)

Love the color combination - great job!

Thanks everyone! It was fun to make. Looking forward to more crochet projects in my future. :)

That poncho is one of the cutest things I think I have ever seen!! Sewing in all those loose ends and seaming everything together was probably a bear, but it was worth it - what a beautiful end product! :)

Very cute!

Thanks Homegrownrose and Philly :)
