Valentine Dishcloth CAL, with Video Tutorial

Right now, we are having our "Be My Valentine" Dishcloth Crochet-A-Long!

Here's the FREE Pattern: Be My Valentine Dishcloth
The design calls for 4 skeins of Lily Sugar'n Cream yarn in the colors Rose Pink, Robin's Egg, Country Red, and Soft Ecru. And you need a size H (5 mm) crochet hook. If you have wrist pain like me, you might want to try using the Clover Soft Touch hooks, which have an ergonomic handle. I can crochet for hours with mine!

I made some changes for my dishcloth (don't we all?) - Instead of Rose Pink, I'm using the color Tea Rose, because I'm more of a coral girl.

Also, when I looked in my stash, I found these two humongous skeins of Bernat Handicrafter in perfect colors for my dishcloth: White Chocolate and Red Licourice! (I found my "Cotton Candy Collection" promotional shades at my local craft store). Before I committed myself to using the Tea Rose instead of Rose Pink, I put all five skeins of my yarn together, to imagine how they would look in my two optional color blends.

Here's the Rose Pink:

And here's the Tea Rose:

And the Tea Rose won! It just felt more "warm and cozy" to me. The Rose Pink is probably more "Valentine-y", though.

Now that I had all my supplies ready, I dove into the pattern. This design has some cool bobbles and stitch techniques, so it will keep you interested as you make it. This is only my second experience with making bobbles, so mine are a little wonky - but they still look happy! :) While working my stitches, I'm making a Video Tutorial for the project. So, you can just follow along, and stitch with me if you want! Today, you'll find the first four videos, to help you get started. I'll share the other videos this week. Keep checking back at that tutorial link!

Be sure to reply here with comments if you are joining in the Crochet-A-Long. You can also discuss your project with us in the Yarnspirations Forum. Happy Crocheting!
