Because I Felt Like It

Bernat Felting

I am in a felting phase right now. After the success of my felted bag and phone case, I was anxious to cast on for more projects with Bernat Felting. Low and behold, I found that I had some leftover Crocus colorway and immediately got

I've never been all that good at adding stitches to things--you know when the directions say "Cast on 12 stitches at the end of the row." I'd do that loop method

The Slipper Socks are finished!  Well, technically they still need to have suede slipper bottoms sewn on to them,

One Down

I've finished one of my Slipper Socks, hoorah!

I spent all last week snuggling my niece, Lucy, so I was able to get a lot done.

The toe of the slipper is supposed to be finished by grafting,

Slipper Socks Make Me Feel Cozy

Back to my Slipper Socks.  I'm knitting these in Patons Classic Wool, Jade Heather.  This is a really pretty yarn.  Now that I've seen it in person I'm sure I'll be ordering many more of the "heather" colors in the future.

It took me a

Baby It's Cold Outside (cliche but true)

I don't know about the weather where you live, but around these parts it's cold!  It makes me want to lounge around the house huddled under a blanket and eating ice cream (I know, I'm a freak).  Since the ice cream drops my core temperature, I will definitely need some cozy attire.

The Slippers for Her turned out pretty darned cute I must say. If you have come along with me on this project adventure you already know that I was not convinced these foot cozies would fit post felting. While I have no way of proving that the foot

I don’t see myself as a perfectionist but I’m beginning to wonder.

Some would say that a person who procrastinates is actually a perfectionist because they will put off doing said thing (dishes, a school assignment, a work project, etc.) in order to do it perfectly, or they won’t do it at all. I would say I am a procrastinator

The pick up game

Picking up stitches is a hoot. It’s one of those techniques that you either just jump into feet first or lay aside thinking you’ll ask for help sometime. Sometime never comes and in two years you’re evaluating your WIPs (works in progress) and come across an item waiting for picked-up stitches. I don’t want to make this harder than it

Big Feet

I know my feet are big (and incidentally, in bad need of a pedicure) but do these slippers really have to look like canoes? I mean, really…the shape of these things crack me up! I have to say that so far, in the process of this pattern, the shape is

Here’s the yarn for my latest project. Ain’t it purdy? It’s Classic Wool from Patons. The variegated is called Palais, it is a great “fall yarn”: dark brown, purple, red to burgundy and a royal blue. The solid is Rich Red that will become the edge and strap.
