A snowy, extremely cold weekend is the perfect time to finish a pair of fair isle mittens! These mittens are from the Next Steps Eight Fair Isle Knitting pattern book. Aren't the owls on these mitts super cute?
Pattern - Hoot Mitts
Yarn - Patons Classic Wool DK Superwash in colours Magenta, Mallard Teal, Gold
Needles - dpns in 3.25mm and 3.75mm
These are a colourful, quick knit and the stranding done with the fair isle knitting gives you an extra warm pair of mitts. As with all the patterns in this pattern book the charts and written instructions are easy to read and follow. One tip to remember when kitting fair isle on dpns is to carry your stranded yarn loosely across the back of your work when you are ending with one needle and beginning with the next. You don't want any puckering!
The next and last project in this pattern book is on the needles. It is a fair isle sweater and I can't wait to finish it!!
