One Happy Foot!

Project – Mom’s Ankle Socks (knit)
Bernat Free Pattern (download here)
Yarn – Bernat Baby Cakes

After a very short time, I have accomplished half of my goal.  Now, I have completed one of the "Mom's Ankle Socks" I'm knitting with Bernat Baby Cakes yarn.  It feels heavenly on my foot!  And the bright, cheerful colors make me a happy girl. :)

I've been very pleased with the performance of the Baby Cakes yarn.  It's "sponge-y" texture is making for some fun and comfortable stitching.  And it makes a nice fabric, too.

So, now that I know the pattern and yarn work well together, and also fit my foot nicely, I'm ready to move on to the second sock.  Fun!

Have any of you decided to make some "Mom's Ankle Socks" with me?  I would love to hear about your experience.  Which yarn did you choose?  Do you like the pattern as much as I do?

I'm thinking of making another pair with Baby Cakes yarn - using different colors next time.  Maybe "Punkin" and "Lemon Drop"....or "Pool Party" and "Clear Sailing".

Super cute! I love these socks! :)

Thanks! I love them too. :)

The sock looks great and the bright colors make me want to try this pattern. I have tried socks in the past and had some difficulty with the construction so I am still trying to finish my first pair. I have some questions about the stripes, how do you finish the yarn ends each time you change color? Is ther any additional bulk in the sock in the area where you weave in the ends? I have only worked with self striping yarn previously. Thanks Crystal

Hi Crystal! You'll enjoy this pattern. It's quick and fun to do. When you change colors, you do NOT cut the yarn. You will just pick up the yarn again when it's time to change again. So there are only two ends to weave in when you're done. :) Good luck with your socks!

Thank you I will try the sock next. Also working on the CAL

Neat! I'm working on the CAL also! I'm making a baby blanket, using Bernat Baby Coordinates Chunky, which works to the same gauge as the Softee Chunky. I'm making less squares than everyone else, so my blanket will be smaller.
