When I cast off my Faded Cables Pullover and was itching to start something quick and easy, serendipity came into play as I had just gotten a hold of the book, Luxury Knits. Inside is the cutest pattern, the Striped Band hat. One of those quick to knit, easy to modify, and open to lots of color choices sort of hats.

Now I know this would be completely awesome in Patons Angora Bamboo, but I didn't have any on hand. However, I did have this collection of leftovers of Patons Classic Wool from several other projects, and I do so love to use up odds and ends.

Who doesn't have a bag of leftovers just crying out to be knit? And these ones were chanting "Hat! Hat! Hat!" from the downstairs closet. And if I like the end results, it looks like one of those patterns that is handy to have in the "quick gift knit" arsenal. And if I don't like the end results, it goes into my charity hat pile to be given to someone who will love my leftovers as much as I do.

What do you think? Will this work?

Hmmm...it seems the new hat will be a nice match for a certain, adorable felted posy bag.
