Lacy Scarf for My Mother

Hello Bernat knitters and crocheters!

In addition to knitting and crocheting for the Bernat Blog, I also make items for a few customers, and occasionally make samples for display at local yarn shops. Recently, I knit a nice keyhole scarf for a new yarn shop in my area. My mother saw the scarf when I posted it on my photo site, and said that she wanted one!

So, I decided to make it on the Bernat Blog. I felt confident that Bernat would have a similar pattern for a keyhole scarf, and I was right! :) Satin Sport Keyhole Scarf

I'm using Bernat Satin Sport, a thinner version of Bernat's popular Satin yarn, in the color "Rouge" (a nice bright red). You can see all the other colors of the yarn here.

The keyhole scarf looks like it will be a fun, easy project. The pattern is rated "Easy", and it has a nice, lacy design. The lace pattern is a simple repeat of 4 rows, including some yarn-overs, a "psso" (pass slipped stitch over), and some knit 2 togethers. The wrong side rows are mostly purl stitches. I will probably post a video of how to do the lace pattern soon. ;)

I would love to have some of you join me in knitting a keyhole scarf! There are so many lovely colors of Bernat Satin Sport, and I wish I could see this scarf made with all the different colors. Wait a minute.....I can ALREADY see the scarf in different colors.....with the Bernat Color Clicker! Oh well.....I still want you to join me in knitting the scarf, just for the fun of it!

Talk soon,

- Shandeh

I really like this scarf! Thank you for sharing your work! I'm looking forward to another CAL/KAL!! I loved knitting the last Mystery Afghan...

You're welcome, Mary! I enjoy all our Crochet and Knit-Alongs as well. They are fun, especially when we all share our experiences in the BernatCares Forum. :) I've heard that we will be having another one in January of 2012.
