Let me tell you a story about how this

became this.

I didn’t believe it myself.  I’ve been knitting for a lot of years.  I’ve made slippers before and I’ve never started slippers with two stitches.  At each step of the way I was skeptical that it could be done.  Who am I kidding?  I finished knitting and seaming the first slipper and I was still skeptical that it could be done again!

But you know what?  This method not only works but it is fast and easy!  You start with a few stitches and add stitches according to the pattern over the first few rows.  Then on the next two rows you cast on an additional ten stitches at the beginning of each row.  The bold – that is for ME – because I read the pattern correctly and the pattern clearly states what to do.  However, it took me a little time to get it right.

After you’ve set cast on your additional stitches, you just knit, placing markers according to the pattern.  This makes the Family Slippers a great project for when you want to knit but you’re so tired your eyes can’t focus or when you have a few minutes to steal for knitting during the day (not that those things ever happen to me).

The last few rows are decreases for the toes and then you seam the slipper up, and put it on or wrap it up as a gift.  It is as easy as that!

Lovely - didn't know that could be done!

Very cool! :)

Thanks ladies :)

ooh, cozy!
