Knitting and Crocheting for Charity!

Happy Weekend!

This past week was an important one for me. We celebrated the 7th Anniversary of our Oddball Charity Blankets! Our beginning was very humble - it all began with an idea I posted in an online knitting forum on Feb 21, 2007. I had no idea that it would grow

This was the PERFECT excuse to knit and crochet! :) So, I decided to browse through Ravelry, to take a peek at some of your recent creations with Yarnspirations yarn. Here are some that caught

2013 Temperature Scarves Completed!

Last year, our forum members participated in a year-long project, where we knitted or crocheted a scarf or blanket, using different colors to represent daily temperatures. Now that the year is over, it's time for us to show off our completed works! Of course, some of us (myself included) are still finishing our projects.....and that's okay too.

Having Fun with Patons Big Boucle

Have you seen the new Patons "Big Boucle" yarn?
I recently got 6 gorgeous skeins in the color "Pretty Patch", and started playing with it right away. So fluffy and warm and cushy!

Since it's a boucle yarn, I decided to just stick with garter stitch, and

Community Update: Temperature Scarves!

Back in January of this year, we started a fun KAL/CAL making scarves, blankets, etc - using the daily temperature as our guide for choosing colors.

Some of us have chosen to make a VERY long scarf, displaying the average temp for each day.
Others have decided to make a blanket

Our new website is an exciting place, and some of us are still learning how to use it.  This week, I've decided to give you a little walk-thru, to help you navigate the site more easily.

Community Update - Trying Out New Bernat Yarns

A few weeks ago, I mentioned Bernat's new yarns. This week, I decided to try them out with hooks and needles, and see how they roll....

My favorite is Bernat Bargello. SO easy to work with while knitting or crocheting, and surprisingly soft to the touch! I

Community Update - Craft Room Update

For the past few weeks, I've been doing a craft room remodel, and some general Spring cleaning all over my house as well. It's actually Summer now, but calling it "Summer cleaning" just doesn't sound right. Ha! My bedroom and bathroom are finished, and my living room is presentable for guests. My kitchen is

Community Update - Still Remodeling!

No more progress to report on my Bernat projects, because I am STILL in the middle of remodeling my craft room. As I mentioned last week, this craft room remodel is actually a HOME remodel, because things are getting moved around all over the place. My bedroom is done, and now I'm giving the

Community Update - Craft Room Remodel

Last week, I mentioned that I am remodeling my craft room, which involves making some changes in the rest of my house as well. Somehow, over the past few years, my craft supplies have migrated all over the place again.  Likewise, completely NON-crafty stuff has invaded the craft room....including my bed! What the heck was I thinking?
